A vertical root fracture (VRF) is a longitudinal crack that extends through the root of a tooth, often originating in the apex and progressing towards the crown. It commonly occurs in endodontically treated teeth, especially those weakened by excessive removal of tooth structure or overfilling. VRFs can lead to symptoms like localized pain, swelling, and a deep, narrow periodontal pocket. These fractures are challenging to diagnose because they may not be visible on traditional X-rays, requiring CBCT for better detection. How do you deal with such cases? Let our speaker Dr Yashkumar Shah will take your through these concepts in this session.
