Crown lengthening procedure is a dental treatment aimed at correcting a “gummy smile” or excessive gum tissue covering the teeth. During crown lengthening, the dentist removes excess gum tissue and, in some cases, bone to expose more of the tooth’s surface, creating a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing smile. This procedure can also be performed to facilitate restorative or cosmetic dental work, such as placing crowns or veneers, by providing adequate tooth structure for the restoration to bond securely.
