Official Submission Instructions

Author Guidelines

Authors are strongly advised to adhere to the standardized IIDR instructions prior to uploading their files. Complete all verification checkpoints below.

Author Readiness

0 / 6 Ready

Tick off each requirement as you prepare your manuscript files to ensure hassle-free editorial clearance.

Proceed to Submission Form

1 ICMJE Authorship & Contributorship Criteria

Every author listed must satisfy all 4 ICMJE criteria: substantial contribution to conception/design or acquisition of data; drafting or critically revising work; final approval of version to be published; and accountability for all aspects of the study integrity.

2 Double-Blind Peer Review Anonymization Rules

To guarantee objective evaluation, author names, hospital/institute affiliations, and grant acknowledgements must NOT appear in the blinded manuscript file or document file properties. Keep author metadata exclusively in the separate Title Page document.

3 Cover Letter & Suggested Dental Reviewers

Include a formal cover letter detailing study novelty, clinical relevance, and confirming that the paper is not under review elsewhere. Authors must suggest 3 to 5 independent expert reviewers (with institutional emails) with whom they have had no collaborations in the last 3 years.

Double-Blind Standards

Peer Review Workflow

Our standard timeline from submission triage to formal acceptance and open-access DOI release. Average time to first decision: 15 days.

STAGE 01

Technical Triage

Day 1 – 3

Managing Editor checks scope, formatting guidelines, and iThenticate plagiarism (<15%).

STAGE 02

Editor Assignment

Day 4 – 7

Section Editor assigns 2–3 independent external dental referees across global institutions.

STAGE 03

Double-Blind Review

Day 8 – 21

Referees evaluate novelty, clinical relevance, methodology, and data reproducibility.

STAGE 04

Editorial Decision

Day 22 – 28

Editor-in-Chief issues formal decision (Minor/Major Revision or Acceptance) with referee notes.

STAGE 05

DOI Publication

Day 29 – 30

Copyediting, XML tagging, galley proof author sign-off, and instant CrossRef DOI indexing.

COPE Standards

Publication Ethics

IIDR strictly complies with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) core practices, ensuring the highest standards of integrity in dental research.

Plagiarism & Duplicate Submission Policy

Zero Tolerance

Every submission undergoes automated iThenticate screening. The overall similarity index must be strictly below 15%, with less than 1% from any single source. Simultaneous submissions to other journals will result in immediate rejection.

Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosures

Compliance Required

Authors must disclose all commercial funding, dental implant manufacturer grants, patents, or consulting associations. If no conflict exists, a formal signed statement must explicitly declare: "The authors declare no competing financial interests."

Ethical Approval & Patient Informed Consent

Mandatory

Clinical dental trials must conform to the Declaration of Helsinki and state the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) / IRB approval protocol number. Written informed consent for publication must be signed for any patient-identifiable intraoral or facial photograph.

Data Integrity & Post-Publication Corrections

FAIR Guidelines

Data fabrication, falsification, and image manipulation (selective radiographic contrast alteration) constitute gross scientific misconduct. Authors must retain raw datasets and DICOM files for 5 years post-publication for editorial verification.
