About the Speaker
Dr. Swagata Saha, a distinguished Pediatric and Preventive Dentist, academician, and researcher whose work exemplifies clinical excellence, compassion, and innovation in children’s oral healthcare.
Dr. Saha completed her BDS from Manipal College of Dental Sciences and her MDS in Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry from A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, where she graduated with distinction. She has trained extensively in specialized pediatric care, behavior management, dental trauma, sedation dentistry, and the management of children with special healthcare needs.
With a strong academic foundation, Dr. Saha has contributed significantly to dental research, with over 20 publications in high-impact journals, covering pediatric endodontics, dental materials, developmental disorders, probiotics, and anxiety-reduction strategies in children. Her scientific work has earned her multiple national recognitions, including the Dr. A.K. Munshi Gold Medal for Best Outgoing Postgraduate and the Dr. Latha Anandakrishna Memorial Award for the highest number of publications among postgraduates.
Dr. Saha’s clinical experience spans major institutions across India, including A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, UIC College of Dentistry in Chicago, Aesthetica Dental Implant Clinic in Kolkata, and multiple pediatric dental centers. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital, Pune, while also practicing as an Associate Pedodontist across reputed clinics.
Beyond her clinical expertise, she is deeply committed to community service. She has actively contributed to NITTE Special Care Center, Project N-TRAC, tribal outreach programs, and dental awareness initiatives across India. Dr. Saha also brings strong leadership experience and is a reviewer for several international journals, including Scientific Reports, BMC Oral Health, and Clinical Oral Investigations.
