Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves moving hair follicles from one part of the body (the donor site) to a bald or balding part of the body (the recipient site). It’s commonly used to treat male pattern baldness but can also be used to restore hair growth in women and for other types of hair loss. The two primary techniques are Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), which involves removing a strip of scalp and dissecting it into grafts, and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), which involves individually harvesting follicular units. The transplanted hair typically grows naturally and can be styled and treated like the rest of your hair. The A to Z of Hair transplant will be taken up in depth by our speaker Dr Kartik Poonja.
